DON'T WORRY! They're practicing for a skit. |
Grace will be doing a solo dance performance, |
I don't think this is for the show... |
Grace looks a little scared... |
Looks more dangerous than it was. |
If
Wednesday was busy, Thursday did not get much easier. After our support
discussion groups in the morning, we had classes. After lunch, it was serious
preparation for the family spectacular. There will be dance performances,
musical performances, short plays and skits as well as improvs.
There is a
lot of work going into this show.
Then
Thursday night, it was Breton dancing. Jean-Paul, one of our on-site
coordinators and Fabienne, one of our host moms teach traditional Breton
dancing. And Thursday, they taught it to us.
This is so
much fun! These are group dances done in lines, in the round and/or in couples.
I only did the first dance, as I have a bad knee that wasn’t holding up well.
But Loïc loves it, and Victoria is a natural born dancer. Even the students who
thought of themselves as clumsy totally got into it. It is fast paced, exciting
and just plain fun. For two hours, our students were true Bretons.
I’ve
literally been working on putting together the video for three days. Every
time, there has been a tech glitch. That’s why it hasn’t posted it before now.
But please take the time to watch the entire 12 minutes. It’s an amazing
experience for all concerned.
The photos
and the video speak for themselves.
Thank you for the update! Appreciate you taking time to post those lovely pictures!
